Stone Mountain Park
Stone Mountain is the home of a civil war memorial depicting Confederate President Jefferson Davis, General Robert E. Lee and Lt. General Thomas "Stonewall" Jackson.

We visited Stone Mountain in December, so the background to this page is Christmas lights from the park!

So, this mountain is really high...
and we're afraid of heights.
So naturally, we took the cable car to the top.

The mountain is made of granite,
and it looks like the surface of the moon.

 

And this is the Atlanta skyline in the distance. The park website notes that in the 1830s the view from Stone Mountain included 5 local towns, one of which was Terminus: "a few straggling huts beyond Decatur."
