| Here's the kirtle over the farthingale without the bumroll. You can see that the bumroll is really necessary to make that first tier of the farthingale lay right under the skirt. | Not a great picture, but you'll notice that when I added the bumroll the problem with the lumpy top tier did mostly go away. |
